Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience (college newspaper, internships, or professional) in content & content management
  • On-Camera Experience
  • Solid understanding of SEO core concepts and techniques
  • Experience with WordPress, or other CMS platforms
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere)
  • Knowledge of AP Style and adherence to Athletes Unlimited brand guidelines
  • Knowledge of Google Suite products
  • Strong reporting and copywriting skills
  • Great organizational and research skills
  • Collaborative and creative individual with a passion for sports
  • Attentive to detail
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Cover the AU Pro Basketball, AU Pro Lacrosse, and AU Pro Volleyball leagues through multimedia content
  • Conduct on-camera interviews
  • Be the “source of truth” for fans as their primary point of information, outside of the league’s verified social channels
  • Research, develop, and pitch content around the organization’s impact efforts, fan experience, business-to-business initiatives, events, and thought-leadership
  • Increase brand awareness and drive traffic by collaborating with the content team to curate and publish engaging digital content around content series
  • Report on trending events and topics in assigned sports through building content around key phrases that elevate SEO
  • Edit content using Adobe Premiere
  • Manage editorial calendar alongside Sr. Digital Media Reporter
  • Manage the Athletes Unlimited website, including updating & creating pages, refreshing homepage content, and reviewing & publishing content
  • Assist in AU website game day operations, such as monitoring game stats, resolving issues alongside the development team, and managing the web membership portal

Preferred Qualifications

Travel requirements based on role, approximately six weeks per season with additional opportunities to travel to industry and league events throughout the calendar year
