Director, Advancement

Summary

The Director of Advancement for the XPRIZE Foundation is a new opportunity for a seasoned fundraiser to develop and implement a strategy for Foundations and Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) at the organization. The successful candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in fundraising, knowledge of DAFs, and excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include a background in technology-focused organizations and experience using non-traditional fundraising techniques.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of successful, progressive experience in fundraising
• Demonstrated success in achieving fundraising goals and strategically advancing new initiatives
• Broad and deep knowledge of fundraising principles, including experience in grant writing and knowledge of DAFs
• Experience and comfort in fundraising through partner organizations
• Expertise in cultivation and solicitation for all levels of giving, ideally with experience securing commitments of $100,000+

Responsibilities

• Works with organizational and departmental leadership to develop and implement a strategy for Foundations
• Researches and applies to Foundation grants and completes grant reports
• Co-authors and executes the fundraising strategy via Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) to XPRIZE’s mission
• Actively and strategically evaluates other potential fundraising opportunities to identify areas of growth
• Innovates new opportunities for donor engagement and programming
• Assists in the implementation of event fundraising opportunities and a variety of donor-focused events and giving campaigns with the Advancement team
• Develops and deepens relationships with Foundation and DAF community stakeholders
• Serves as an external advocate and community builder for XPRIZE at appropriate events and meetings

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in technology-focused organizations
• Success in using crowdfunding and other non-traditional fundraising techniques
• Knowledge of Salesforce CRM
• Experience working at a Foundation, within the DAF ecosystem, or with an existing strong network within these communities

Benefits

• The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,000 to $140,000 and may also qualify for an annual incentive
