Summary

Join Smartsheet as the Director of Consulting, leading a professional services delivery team and managing regional operational and financial performance goals. You will be responsible for business development, process improvement, and coaching future leaders. This role involves hiring and resourcing, developing delivery resources, and translating the PS Delivery organization's vision into a strategy for sustainable growth. You will also strategize on advanced revenue and execution methodologies to create new revenue streams and improve traditional revenue paths. This leadership position requires a unique blend of proficiency in technology-based solutions, people management skills, and business development experience.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience as part of a professional services organization or equivalent education/experience
  • 10+ years experience working in a software services or Consulting leadership capacity, leading global cross-functional teams, process and system roll-outs – experience creating revenue lift through new and existing offerings preferred
  • Ability to quickly establish trust and to influence others, both internally and externally
  • Ability to handle conflict and drive agreement on decisions for which conflicting opinions and input exist
  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills and process-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong relationships and culture
  • Experience collaborating across the organization at all levels and functions across a company
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Demonstrated success in driving complex issues through analysis and resolution
  • Experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 4-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university
  • Prior P&L experience
  • Excellent client management skills and the ability to work with customers in both pre-and post-sales environments
  • Business development and team management skills
  • Experience in solutioning, selling, and delivering solutions for F1000 organizations
  • Experience partnering across departments
  • Excellent customer engagement and solution visioning skills
  • Experience translating customer requirements into software solutions
  • Experience using change management and business process mapping strategies

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the development of department objectives
  • Hire, develop, and directly manage qualified Sr Managers and Managers
  • Manage departmental budget and authorize expenditures
  • Manage department development opportunities
  • Coordinate development of standardized documentation and resources for reporting performance and recommendations
  • Provide collaboration and support on all strategic business planning and consulting in preparation for expansion, consolidation, new service offerings, and other business owner decisions that are presented
  • Review and monitor all quarterly reporting on practice financial and statistical performance, opportunity analysis and budget vs. actuals performance
  • Research industry trends and keep the team current on industry changes
  • Provide consulting services throughout the customer lifecycle to ensure maximum customer value and overall economic impact (software and services)
  • Oversee scoping, estimating, proposing, SOW creation, and staff allocation
  • Manage Consulting Managers and other leaders in your practice area
  • Manage annual performance evaluations of your leadership team
  • Instill a high-performance culture with a focus on teamwork, customer excellence, and ownership
  • Create a culture of inclusivity, recognizing the strengths that individuals bring to the team to promote engagement and development opportunities
  • Act as a change agent to build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; reward and discipline team members; address complaints and resolve problems
  • Work with the Operations group to implement best practices
  • Travel to meet with customers
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

MBA, or equivalent, from an accredited university preferred but not required
