Join Samsara's Corporate Development team and play a key role in driving inorganic growth through M&A and investments. Collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate and execute strategic deals, conduct thorough research and analysis, and present findings to corporate leadership. This remote position, open to Canadian residents, mirrors the work of top venture capital/private equity firms, investment banks, and strategy consulting firms. You will lead all aspects of M&A and venture deal execution, build relationships with internal and external parties, and champion Samsara's cultural principles. This highly visible role requires a proactive self-starter with 10+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, or private equity. Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in a mix of corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, and private equity
- Proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Comfortable with undefined processes and building zero to one
- Demonstrated analytical skills, fluency in performing rigorous financial, valuation, and other quantitative analyses
- Demonstrated experience influencing and communicating effectively across all levels and teams across the organization
- Demonstrated understanding of technology with an acumen to engage with product and engineering leaders on tech roadmaps
- Proficiency in evaluating, negotiating, and executing deals and comfortable jumping into the scouting and integration processes
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of M&A and Venture deal execution, including: sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, and negotiations
- Analyze and understand Samsaraโs strategic objectives, as well as industry trends, to identify, recommend, and pursue companies/technologies that can meet those objectives
- L ead special projects that deliver impact across the company - requires zero to one building
- Build relationships with internal cross-functional teams, including: product management, engineering, finance, and legal functions
- Develop and maintain relationships with a diverse set of external parties - CEOs, bankers, venture capitalists, and industry thought leaders
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsaraโs cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
