Summary
Join PrizePicks, the fastest-growing sports company in North America, as the Director of Enterprise Compliance! Lead the development and implementation of our enterprise-wide compliance program, ensuring effective risk management across all business operations. As a strategic thinker and hands-on leader, you will oversee policy development, KYC/OFAC compliance, integrity protection, data privacy, and consumer protection initiatives. You will also manage third-party relationships, monitor regulatory changes, and conduct risk assessments. This role reports to the SVP, Legal & Compliance and offers a competitive compensation package and benefits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Law, Finance)
- 7+ years of progressive experience in compliance, risk management, or internal control, preferably within the gaming, financial services, or financial technology industries
- Deep understanding of AML checks and protections, and related regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to uncover root causes and key risk trends from a wide variety of data sources and create detailed action plans to improve fraud and AML risk
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- You must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and enhance PrizePicks' enterprise compliance program, encompassing policies, procedures, internal controls, training, and audits
- Design and implement strategies for compliance risk management, working closely with finance, revenue, technology, product, and marketing teams to ensure company-wide compliance
- Oversee the end-to-end development, delivery, and maintenance of compliance policies and programs, including in-depth policies for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and other financial regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with Fraud and Product teams to develop and implement robust Know Your Customer (KYC) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) policies and information-sharing procedures
- Work closely with Fraud, Product and Responsible Gaming to ensure a comprehensive approach to protecting the company from integrity issues, including drafting new policies, contributing to incident reports, and developing post-incident work plans
- Contribute to the company's focus on data privacy, including policy development, privacy law compliance, risk assessments, mitigation strategies, training, and auditing
- Work with Legal and the Sr. Director of Responsible Gaming to develop and execute strategies for "truth in advertising" standards and other consumer protection requirements
- Serve as the company's subject matter expert on third-party requirements (e.g., payment processors, banks, and credit card companies)
- Monitor and analyze changes to relevant non-gaming laws, regulations, and industry best practices, and assess their impact on PrizePicks' operations
- Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance reviews to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Ensure that compliance issue remediation efforts are sufficient and timely, reviewing action plans and remediation documentation to support event closure. Participate in root cause analysis and identify customer experience improvement activities
- Contribute to the operation of a high-performing regulatory compliance team, defining roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations, and mentoring team members
- Develop and deliver training programs to employees on relevant compliance requirements
- Develop and deliver regular reports on compliance activities, risks, and trends to senior management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with higher-risk market verticals
- Experience with stored value, money transmission, alternative payments, and cryptocurrency
- Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or equivalent certification
