Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a leadership role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, GAAP expertise, and in-depth understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606)
- Experience with NetSuite is required
- Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide daily accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all relevant regulations
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient internal controls
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management on key performance indicators and trends
- Oversee the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant guidance
- Review customer contracts and assess proper revenue recognition treatment
- Work closely with sales and legal teams to address revenue recognition matters
- Oversee and manage the annual financial audit and income tax preparation processes
- Oversee audit schedules and support internal audits
- Ensure compliance with SOX requirements
- Cultivate a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Effectively delegate tasks and monitor team performance
- Mentor and develop the team, preparing them for future growth within the organization
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Stay abreast of best practices in accounting and technology
- Proactively seek out opportunities to improve and scale financial systems and processes in anticipation of future growth and the transition to the Controller role
