Director of Central Operations

Summary

Join AvantStay, a rapidly growing venture-funded hospitality company, as their Director of Central Operations. You will lead non-field operations teams, develop strategies for new verticals, and support the broader operations division in delivering exceptional guest and owner experiences. This role requires optimizing operational functions, streamlining processes, and improving performance across the vacation rental portfolio. You will track key metrics, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and drive cost savings initiatives. Up to 15% domestic travel is required. The ideal candidate possesses 8+ years of experience leading high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.

Requirements

• Have 8+ years of experience, ideally at the Director level or above, with at least 3 years’ experience leading high-performing teams
• Succeed in high-performance cultures (whether in tech, operations, strategy, consulting, banking, or a related experience)
• Believe in data driven decision making (and are proficient in SQL / Excel), and are equally capable of relying on your intuition when we don’t have the luxury of data
• Thrive when operating at 10,000 feet and building the right strategy, but aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive into the details
• Possess exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
• Demonstrate the ability to drive operational excellence, improve processes, and deliver exceptional customer experiences

Responsibilities

• Lead non-Field Operations teams including vendor management and virtual property management
• Develop strategy for new verticals
• Support the broader Operations division in delivering an exceptional guest & owner experience by elevating our quality standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Track and move key metrics including responsiveness, operational costs, overhead costs, and customer satisfaction (CSAT and NPS)
• Work closely with our Product & Engineering teams to leverage technology to improve our core KPIs and outcomes
• Drive cost savings initiatives across cleaning, maintenance, and other recurring property service providers
