Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in journalism, communications, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in media, publishing, or newsroom operations, with a focus on content review and editing
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively oversee operations department
• Experience and knowledge in strategic planning and department optimization
• Outstanding collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to motivate, lead by example, and make quick, insightful decisions
• Self-motivated, with stellar time-management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize new and ongoing projects
• Courteous, professional, and effective communication
• White-glove customer service experience
• Exceptional collaboration and organizational skills, excelling at both high-level thinking and execution as well as influencing and inspiring others to achieve a common goal

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight for global newsroom operational functions, ensuring alignment with Business Wire’s broader objectives, operational efficiency, and content quality across regions
• Serve as key advisor to executive leadership, offering high-level insights on business decisions and long-term process improvements
• Analyze and innovate newsroom performance metrics to measure productivity and drive operational improvements in coordination with the Director, Global Operations who manages Central and Overnight teams
• Supply strategic oversight of editorial review process, leveraging data driven KPIs that assess performance at individual and team levels to further propel continuous enhancements in efficiency and quality control
• Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure alignment with client expectations, addressing concerns and proactive issue prevention through strategic process adjustments that maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction
• Contribute guidance and leadership to department managers, project leads, and cross-functional teams, fostering innovation, best practices, and optimized workflows to meet evolving organizational needs
• Engage in crisis and risk management efforts, acting as a final escalation point for sensitive client situations and guiding teams through high-risk challenges to safeguard the company’s reputation
• Drive succession planning and employee engagement initiatives, cultivating a high-performance culture rooted in mentorship, collaboration, and the organization’s core values
