Requirements

  • 8+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in senior leadership roles managing both engineering managers and individual contributors
  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring engineering managers
  • Strong technical expertise with the ability to drive architectural decisions and provide hands-on technical guidance when necessary
  • Experience scaling engineering teams and processes in a high-growth environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP, including scalability and security practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineering managers, fostering growth and effectiveness while upholding an inclusive culture of collaboration and kindness
  • Balance hands-on technical contributions with high-level leadership to drive our technical vision and product goals
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Product to ensure technical solutions are feasible, timely and aligned with product priorities
  • Develop and implement processes for hiring, onboarding, and retaining top engineering talent
  • Oversee the architecture and design of our technical systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
  • Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and capacity planning for the engineering department
  • Foster a startup culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence, driving innovation and adaptability
  • Define and track key engineering metrics and KPIs to measure team performance and product quality
