Requirements

• 10+ years of IT experience with a minimum of 3-5 years in a senior management role
• 5+ years of experience managing global 24x7 hybrid cloud environments, cloud migration, and the modernization of legacy applications
• 5+ years of experience in SRE or similar roles, with a strong emphasis on root cause analysis, observability, and problem management
• Expert understanding of and previous hands-on experience with data center, virtualization, IaC, infrastructure, back office, and engineering technologies
• Experience in CI and CD (GitOps Framework), DevSecOps automation and test automation with a drive for continual learning
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and technical skills to lead the day-to-day activities of the team and build strong relationships with the extended organization
• Ability to manage multiple projects to completion
• Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently within a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Research, recommend and implement technology strategies to increase the quality and reliability of Business Wire applications, employee productivity, and operational efficiency
• Recruit, mentor, and motivate a high-performance IT operations staff
• Develop a clear and compelling long-term vision for IT Infrastructure and Operations, establishing OKRs and capabilities roadmaps that enable the organization's overall strategic goals and incorporate modern technology trends and innovations
• Oversee the administration of compute services including cloud, SD-WAN, virtual compute, storage, backups, disaster recovery, and local area networks
• Manage Network Operations, System Engineering, SRE, DBA and DevOps groups utilizing Agile methodology
• Drive the Change Management and Root Cause Analysis processes to ensure stability and continuing improvement in uptime
• Develop, manage, and report on infrastructure and operational SLAs
• Establish a culture of operational excellence and automation by designing and maintaining a portfolio of cloud and self-hosted applications/infrastructure, leveraging practices such as CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code
• Develop and implement a comprehensive SRE strategy to ensure systems/applications are highly available and reliable, with minimal downtime or disruption to business operations
• Identify and mitigate potential risks that could negatively impact system reliability and availability
