Summary
Ophelia is a healthcare startup that provides telehealth solutions for opioid use disorder (OUD). The company is seeking a Director of Product Design to lead the implementation of its product design strategy, manage the Product Design team, collaborate with engineering, product management, and data, and ensure beautiful, usable, and thoughtfully prioritized feature sets. The role requires 8+ years of experience in product design, 3+ years of experience managing a team or being a team leader, stellar communications skills, deep understanding of people-centered design principles, strong proficiency in design tools, experience in agile practice, and passion for the company's mission. Requirements
- 8+ years experience in product design
- 3+ years experience either managing a team of at least two product designers OR strong experience as a team leader with delivery accountability and indirect reporting (eg. βLead Product Designerβ)
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a product design strategy
- Mentor and grow the design team
- Work across the business to solicit great product design projects, prioritize the work, and communicate around the work. Ensure timely and reliable delivery of those projects
- Empower design decision-making across the organization by teaching design, how to use components, leveraging patterns and copy, and then, trusting others to execute
- Advocate for people-centered design principles and ensure they are integrated into the product development lifecycle
- Participate in Tech Leadership planning and other activities
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and excellence in product design
