Summary

Join Mattermost as the Director of US Public Sector Campaigns and spearhead pipeline development and revenue growth within the Federal government segment. This strategic leadership role involves building awareness, developing and executing account-based marketing (ABM) strategies, and driving demand generation. You will collaborate with the sales team, partner marketing, and other stakeholders to meet and exceed pipeline and revenue goals. The ideal candidate is an experienced marketer with a proven track record of driving pipeline growth in the U.S. public sector, particularly in cybersecurity. This role requires a self-starter with a strong strategic mindset and the ability to build new programs and foster strong cross-functional partnerships. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with a strong focus on federal government marketing and demand generation
  • Proven experience marketing cybersecurity solutions to the U.S. public sector, including both federal and state/local markets
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and executing ABM strategies, digital and offline marketing campaigns, and partner marketing initiatives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to craft compelling content and campaign assets
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive pipeline growth and meet/exceed revenue targets
  • Highly adaptable to changing priorities and market dynamics
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating a proactive and results-driven mindset

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales, channel/partner marketing, product marketing, creative teams, and marketing operations to develop and execute strategic marketing plans
  • Lead the creation and execution of capture strategies aimed at securing government contracts, grants, and research programs with various federal agencies aligned with Mattermost’s mission
  • Provide leadership and strategic oversight for federal marketing initiatives, building credibility and trust with key partners, including the Defense Industrial Base (DIB), system integrators, and other stakeholders critical to Mattermost’s success
  • Drive the development of scalable processes, assets, and frameworks to improve the company’s strategic pursuit capabilities within the federal market
  • Collaborate with Sales and Growth Marketing teams to design and execute comprehensive ABM and demand generation campaigns using a variety of tactics, including events, email, outbound efforts, webinars, paid social, digital marketing, and content syndication
  • Collaborate with Content Marketing to develop compelling content that supports all campaign touchpoints, including email, landing pages, paid social ads, event messaging, and other online/offline initiatives
  • Leverage data-driven insights to continuously test, measure, and optimize marketing activities for improved outcomes
  • Partner with the U.S. Federal Sales team to align marketing efforts with sales goals and facilitate feedback on lead conversion, client insights, and campaign effectiveness
  • Conduct regular public sector pipeline reviews and develop targeted marketing campaigns to complement sales activities and address gaps in the market
  • Build credibility with channel partners by delivering impactful marketing initiatives that support joint go-to-market efforts
  • Analyze market trends, government procurement cycles, and competitive positioning to inform campaign strategies
  • Consistently measure and enhance the performance of federal marketing programs to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Provide regular reporting on key metrics, pipeline contributions, and overall campaign effectiveness to the executive leadership team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and federal system integrators
  • Familiarity with federal capture strategies and government procurement processes
  • ABM certification or experience using ABM platforms
