Summary
Join Axonius as the Director of Tax and Treasury to lead and build our global tax function. You will manage the completion of annual tax returns, establish a quarterly tax provision process, and own all sales tax returns. You will also provide proactive tax advice, manage tax audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role requires a CPA with 10+ years of experience in accounting, including public accounting and publicly traded technology company experience. - A CPA with 10 to 15+ years of experience in accounting, including public accounting firm experience and publicly traded technology company
- Proven track record in corporate income tax and indirect tax
Responsibilities
- Manage completion of annual federal and state tax returns as well as foreign filings (operations primarily in the U.S., United Kingdom, Israel, Portugal)
- Bring annual tax provision in-house in accordance with GAAP and establish a quarterly tax provision process
- Own all sales tax returns and build out scalable process
- Assist with 1099, 3921 and other filings
- Manage preparation of transfer pricing agreements and studies for foreign subsidiaries
- Monitor legislative changes that might apply to Axonius and be proactive about addressing such changes
- Provide proactive advice on tax implications related to business initiatives, M&A activities, and other strategic decisions
- Responsible for all tax related audits
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions
- Act as a key point of contact for external tax advisors and regulatory authorities
- Provide guidance across organization around domestic and international tax, including VAT, HST/GST, sales tax
- Oversee special projects as required (E&P studies, 382 studies, deferred tax analysis, etc.)
- Develop a clear tax strategy
- Build out and own strong internal controls over accounting and reporting for significant taxes

- Experience with Avalara is a plus
