Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience in entertainment, advertising or production company preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of video specifications, formats, and delivery platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of offline and online editing
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications, Avid Media Composer, and DaVinci Resolve
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously
  • Ability to switch gears quickly and reprioritize projects on the fly to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with production workflows (DIT processes)
  • Oversight and management of onsite editors as well as remote editors and their workflows
  • Strong work ethic, self-starter, takes initiative with a positive attitude and can collaborate with a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and attention to detail is paramount
  • Excellent people and problem-solving skills. Must be able to give and receive constructive criticism in a positive manner
  • Creative thinker with a desire to help people further their creative goals
  • Proficiency in with Microsoft Office and Google suites of applications
  • Must be Mac and PC proficient

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, onboard, and approve timesheets/invoices for editorial personnel
  • Manage assistant editors and their assigned tasks
  • Define project workflow from acquisition to final delivery
  • Work with other departments to achieve their goals by providing timely, accurate and efficient internal and external post production services
  • Locate and nurture editorial freelance talent in a variety of cities/time zones
  • Maintain knowledge of current post trends and technologies
  • Manage and facilitate training of the assistant editor team
  • Coordinate client asset acquisition
  • Define and manage post production workflows
  • Manage the company presentation, review, and approval media platform (Simian)
  • Hire and manage finishing vendors (audio mix, color correction, etc)
  • Oversee QC procedures and schedule client deliveries
  • Collaborate with Known IT to manage post production hardware, software, cloud, and remote access systems
  • Procure stock assets for company-wide projects. Must be familiar with stock licensing terms
  • Coordinate exchange of materials with other departments
  • Manage editorial project, media, and archival storage systems
  • Provide expertise to other departments
  • Maintain effective communication with other departments
  • Communicate scheduling conflicts and solutions
  • Assist with internal marketing assets (company sizzle reels, social video content, etc.)
