Editorial Intern

Summary

Join Slate's Advice section as a summer editorial intern for a 90-day internship starting in May or June. This hands-on experience is ideal for aspiring editors interested in working at a fast-paced online magazine. You'll support flagship columns like Dear Prudence and contribute to a team focused on Slate Advice. The internship is based in Slate's Brooklyn office, but remote candidates are considered. Requirements

• Be organized and detail-oriented
• Have a proven interest in editorial work
• Be familiar with Slate’s advice columns
• Be able to work efficiently and without much supervision
• Be enthusiastic about contributing to a team

Responsibilities

• Assisting with creating columns in our content management system
• Organizing our question inboxes and assisting with question selection
• Selecting letters from the Dear Prudence archives to recirculate
• Contributing to our deliberations on headlines and lead letters
• Editing 1–2 columns per week
