Join Actian's 2025 Summer Internship Program for a 12-week opportunity starting June 2nd. This program offers structured learning, a dedicated mentor, and a capstone project presentation. The internship focuses on creating engaging educational content for Actian's newly acquired Zeenea product. Responsibilities
- Be diligent in all that you do. Demonstrate your abilities to use the resources around you to progress your tasks to completion. Be sure to ask questions early to facilitate forward progress
- Take time to engage with the Academy to learn about the Actian product range and in particular the product for which you will be mostly working with
- Take time to understand the departmental processes to ensure your work is in the correct format for the next stage of the process and any future updates. We have templates for storyboarding, an audio script template, and numerous templates in the graphic design department. We have developed processes to help new members of the team come up to speed in a timely fashion but to also make sure that we are able to maintain the files once you have completed your time with us
- As a team we all take some responsibility for administering the Actian Academy. As a team member you will also need to take on some of these duties with our assistance. You’ll gain knowledge for course and lesson creation along with the process for publishing content into the customer domain
- A key aspect of this role and the Capstone Project is to put yourself in the customers shoes and always be checking and double checking that the content you are creating will guide our customers effortlessly to the desired outcome. Any gaps in the SME information provided must be filled by performing research, reading documentation, asking questions and reviewing existing content in the Academy. We use tools such as Synthesia and LearnExperts, with built in AI features, to assist but ultimately it will be on you to ensure the storyboards and scripts are the best they can be. All content is rigorously reviewed before being sent into the production phase of the workflow
- You will be working as a member of the team, using our processes to generate storyboards in PowerPoint and accompanying voice over scripts in Word
- You will need to engage with our SMEs to ask questions or confirm doubts and become familiar with our internal knowledge resources such as our documentation, the Academy and Knowledge Base documents
- There will be an opportunity to work with the graphic designers to assist in producing video with either the Camtasia video production software or Synthesia
- You will become familiar with JIRA to understand your work priorities, next task, track your time and report progress
- You will be involved with team and daily stand-up calls to ensure work is continuing as required and to highlight any progress blocking issues
Preferred Qualifications
- An excellent grasp and enjoyment of the English Language and grammar. The ability to think about the best way to convey information to a customer via the audio script. Sometimes changing a sentence structure can be a game changer!
- A creative mindset for visualizing concepts via an infographic or simple animation. A picture speaks a thousand words, so they say. This is true so long as it’s the correct picture!
- A desire to tell a ‘how-to’ story to a customer in the most succinct and engaging way possible. We want our customers to have the best factual educational experience we can provide them
- Be a great team player but also able to work on your own initiative

- Opportunity to travel – we will be hosting a hybrid orientation! For those that are interested in being in person for orientation, we will fly you to your closest resident office
