Emergency Medical Services Dispatcher

Summary

Join STA Personnel Solutions South Africa and partner with our USA-based client in the private medical transportation industry as an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Dispatcher. This remote role, open to South African citizens only, demands resilience, composure under pressure, and strong organizational skills. The position requires flexibility with shifts spanning Monday to Sunday, including 12-hour shifts across 2-3 days and shorter shifts on other days. A stable internet connection (fixed fibre line with 25 Mbps minimum speed and wired Ethernet support) and reliable power backup are mandatory. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail.

Requirements

• A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection is mandatory
• A reliable power backup solution is required to manage load shedding and power outages
• This is a remote role for South African Citizens only

Responsibilities

• Answering incoming calls, administrative, non-emergency, and emergency
• Professional etiquette
• Promptly ascertain proper levels of response
• Triage calls and enter data into computer system
• Data Entry with critical attention to details
• Constantly monitoring the dispatch system
• Ensure units are en-route
• Post moves in a timely fashion
• Ensure other unites are within acceptable distance
• Communicate appropriate routing instructions
• Investigate and report all time exceptions
• Complete and submit daily reports

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Healthcare Industry experience will be beneficial
• Previous experience in dispatch or coordination will be an added benefit
• Customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks; ability to work independently and as a team member
• Competent radio communication skills
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
