Summary
Join Fortitude Re as a Part-time Employee Relations Specialist and foster a fair and productive workplace. Conduct thorough internal investigations into employee complaints, manage accommodation requests, and resolve employee relations issues. Collaborate with various stakeholders to address complex concerns and mitigate employment risks. Lead and manage harassment prevention training programs, ensuring compliance. Serve as a subject matter expert on employee relations and performance-related policies. Coordinate the interactive process for employee accommodations requests, complying with the ADA and other laws. This part-time position (24-28 hours/week) offers a competitive hourly rate and a generous benefits package.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in employee relations, HR, or a compliance-focused role
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting investigations and handling conducting employee matters
- Strong knowledge of employment laws (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FMLA, EEO)
- Excellent judgement with ability to balance risk mitigation and business needs
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Enjoy working in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough, timely, and objective internal investigations into employee complaints and concerns, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, misconduct, and policy violations
- Partner with People Partners, Compliance, and Legal to assess risk, determine findings, and develop action plans
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential documentation of all case activity and resolution steps
- Analyze trends in employee relations issues and recommend proactive solutions to mitigate recurring concerns
- Provide expert guidance to managers and People Partners on complex employee relations matters
- Lead and manage the organization’s mandatory harassment prevention training programs, ensuring 100% compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
- Partner with the Learning & Development team to update and deploy training content as needed
- Serve as a subject matter expert on employee relations and performance-related policies
- Manage annual handbook review and certification
- Coordinate the interactive process for employee accommodations requests in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable laws
- Liaise with employees, managers, and medical providers to ensure timely and appropriate accommodations are made
- Track and monitor accommodations and provide status updates to relevant internal stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
