Summary

Join Grafana Labs as an Employment Counsel to support the People Team in all aspects of employment law. You will provide advice and support on recruiting, performance management, leaves, accommodations, terminations, compensation, harassment, discrimination, investigations, and restrictive covenants. The role also involves developing and implementing global employment policies, supporting compensation and benefits programs, drafting employee documents, managing outside counsel, and supporting M&A efforts. This position requires a J.D. from an accredited law school, US state bar membership, and at least 4 years of US employment law experience. Experience with international employment law, particularly in EU countries, is also needed. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • A J.D. from an accredited law school and a member in good standing of a U.S. state bar
  • An attorney with at least 4 years of experience practicing US employment law (some prior in-house experience preferred)
  • Experience with international employment law - in particular EU countries
  • An excellent communicator and able to partner well with colleagues on the People Team and business stakeholders
  • Experience with high growth private companies
  • Able to provide practical solutions and business-oriented advice on a wide array of complex employment law issues
  • Passionate about employment law and keep up to date on developments
  • Interested in working for a dynamic and agile technology business and excited to be part of a growing team
  • Organized and efficient with your time and tasks
  • Someone with a good sense of humor who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and working in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and day-to-day support for the People Team in all areas of employment law including recruiting and hiring, performance management, leaves of absences, accommodations, terminations, compensation, harassment, discrimination, internal investigations, and restrictive covenants
  • Support the development and rollout of global employment policies to ensure best practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Support global compensation and benefits programs
  • Draft, revise, and advise on employee related documents including offer letters, contractor agreements, and separation agreements
  • Manage local and international outside employment counsel in an efficient and cost effective manner
  • Support Grafana Lab's M&A and integration efforts
