Employment Specialist

Summary

Join Accord as an Employment Specialist to help individuals with disabilities find success in their lives. As an Employment Specialist, you will remove barriers, create relationships, and provide flexible, individualized employment supports.

Requirements

• Demonstrate good written and oral communication skills as well as time management skills
• Have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and a vehicle
• Pass a Department of Human Services background study
• If holding a Social Work degree, be currently licensed as a Social Worker as required by the Minnesota Board of Social Work

Responsibilities

• Remove barriers and create relationships to help others find success in their lives
• Provide flexible, individualized employment supports, offering employment services in three different areas: Exploration/Discovery, Development, and Support
• Engage in communication with support teams, planning, and represent Accord
• Attend meetings, advocate for the person you serve, and provide them with training
• Become credentialed in the MN Employment Services field
• Go to job sites and support the person when needed
• Organize details, help schedule, set up transportation, talk with employers, etc
• Write reports and maintain licensing requirements
