Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience leading an engineering team, with a focus on product and catalog data, Elastic Search, integrations and related tools
- 5+ years experience in development experience in Java, Spring Boot, related opensource frameworks and modern server side technologies
- Understanding of search application landscape, integration with AI and ML tools, Sorting, Natural language processing, etc
- Experience building out Next Gen Search platforms and modernization initiatives with a focus on pushing boundaries and increasing capabilities
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of cloud computing, containerization, and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with other Enterprise Search platforms such as SOLR, Lucene, etc
- Experience with project management and the ability to effectively prioritize and coordinate multiple projects
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and manage a team, and to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with agile software development methodologies and a track record of delivering high-quality software on time and on budget
- Understanding and experience with test driven development is required
- Experience working in multi-brand, multi-language, multi-geography applications
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers in the design, development, deployment, monitoring and maintenance of all applications, features and functionality in search services team
- Define and implement strategies and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate their applications and services
- Ensure application stability, scalability, and security through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvements
- Manage development projects, including prioritizing tasks, coordinating with stakeholders, and tracking progress
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging the team to experiment with new technologies and approaches to improve the applications
- Participate in on-call support duties
- Partner with Technical Product owner to establish OKRs and track progress
- Work with Vendor to understand product roadmap and partner with them to share/incorporate our needs
- Team up with cross functional teams to ensure all business requirements are being met
- Ensure support structures are well defined and socialized throughout the teams
