Requirements

• Have proven experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role, with a strong background in software engineering, including experience as a Back-End or Full-Stack Software Development Engineer
• Be a polyglot with the ability to cross over different technical stacks and manage teams working across stacks
• Have strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Be passionate about building and leading high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, and mentoring engineers to achieve their career goals
• Respect and challenge your peers and team members while welcoming being challenged
• Have experience with software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum
• Possess strong time management skills and the ability to balance multiple initiatives
• Be comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing conditions, viewing changes as opportunities to add structure and order when necessary
• Have experience in or willingness to learn Ruby, Python, React, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, AWS

Responsibilities

• Build a remote team of engineers by hiring, managing, coaching, career development and performance review
• Be responsible for architecture, design and practices
• Collaborate with colleagues in design, product and engineering for timely and high quality delivery
• Help your team to facilitate making decisions and remove roadblocks
• Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture
• Work with international colleagues around the world

Preferred Qualifications

• Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Have experience working with LLM (Large Language Model) technologies
• Have experience in database design and performance tuning
• Have experience working in modular monoliths and microservice architectures
• Have experience in cloud-native architectures
