Summary

The job is for an Engineering Manager role at Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) within the OddsFactory team. The role involves leading a team of Software Engineers to develop technology solutions that power the risk and trading domain, with a focus on enhancing the fan experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in engineering leadership
  • A solid foundation in software development, with 5+ years in .Net or similar technologies, and 3+ years in designing cloud-native solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Expertise in Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Demonstrated capability in leading complex, scalable solution development, with a focus on delivering outstanding customer experiences
  • Positive and flexible attitude to work in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to embrace new initiatives
  • Highly outcome-oriented and data-driven
  • Excellent influencing and problem-resolution skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead your team in exploring and implementing new technologies and methodologies, encouraging a culture of experimentation and bold innovation to provide an awesome fan experience
  • Work closely with Product Management, Quant, and other engineering leaders to craft cohesive, user-centric solutions that align with Fanatics' strategic goals
  • Utilize metrics and data to guide decision-making processes, ensuring that initiatives are aligned organizational objectives
  • Champion a metrics-driven approach within your team
  • Dedicate yourself to the career progression of your team members, offering mentorship, identifying opportunities for growth, and fostering future leaders
  • Oversee the development of scalable, reliable systems. Emphasize continuous improvement and technical debt reduction to enhance system performance and user experience
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, fostering partnerships able to influence product strategy and technical decisions at an organizational level
  • Masterfully communicate complex technical and business updates, making data-supported presentations to stakeholders and executives, enhancing transparency and alignment
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and engineering practices, advocating for and implementing best practices that drive team and organizational success
  • Be willing to travel occasionally for special events and for essential offsite meetings and team collaboration sessions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or similar
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams
  • A passion for sports and/or sports betting industries
  • Experience in partnering with cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record in a start-up environment, valuing collaboration and rapid innovation
  • Passionate about working in a highly collaborative team environment
