Summary

Join Guideline as a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead Shared Experiences and Mobile teams. As a manager within Guideline's engineering organization, you'll work closely with Product and Design to establish roadmaps, provide mentorship and growth opportunities to your engineers, and be responsible for the impact of your teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, 3+ years of managing a team of 5 or more engineers
  • Experience with developing and maintaining a custom react component library as part of a scalable design system
  • Strong experience with frontend technologies, ideally React
  • Familiarity with at least one modern backend language (like Ruby or Python)
  • Experience operating in a modern operational environment (we use GCP, Kubernetes and Docker)
  • Confident in spending up to 20-25% of your time contributing by writing code along side your team as your time and priorities permit
  • Competent in setting expectations, giving transparent feedback, and creating a culture of psychological safety
  • Effective at project management and using agile software development principles

  • Architect and develop core cross-cutting experiences that affect all users
  • Continue bringing our mobile app closer to feature parity
  • Improve the engineering experience for frontend engineers
  • Empower teams to provide high quality software by removing barriers and unblocking
  • Support your engineers through empathetic leadership, mentorship, transparency, and accountability
