Join Honeycomb's Explore team as a Manager or Senior Manager and lead a high-performing team of full-stack engineers. You will collaborate with design and product teams, prioritize projects based on business impact and user value, and foster a respectful, inclusive team culture. Requirements
- You have some experience leading a high-performing team of engineers, including managing and shipping cross-functional or multi-team projects
- You set people up to ship iteratively and are excited to support and grow empowered teams through a blend of psychological safety and positive accountability
- You live and breathe collaboration with product and design to understand the larger business context and frame projects and prioritization around impact to the business and users
- You structure work around tight feedback loops with customers
- You have demonstrated experience with balancing priorities that complement, or conflict, with one another
- You understand the value of a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team and bring that lens to your work as a leader in hiring, team culture, and beyond
- Youβre practiced at helping your team grow and build their career paths
- You are comfortable with the pace and trade offs of a growth stage startup (meaning: know how to take care of yourself and your team, get your work done without working around the clock, prioritize ruthlessly, be able to tolerate a little uncertainty and sometimes wear different hats)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with your design and product peers to develop an impactful team strategy grounded in data and customer feedback
- Frame projects and prioritization around impact to the business and value for the users
- Lead with a sense of urgency and uphold high standards and expectations for your team by modeling them yourself
- Prioritize building a respectful, high-achieving, inclusive culture on the team
- Build systems that allow the team of 5-8 full stack engineers to be greater than the sum of their parts
- Coach and mentor engineers to own and achieve business impact as well as grow their technical skills
- Model and maintain a high functioning team culture of mutual respect that promotes open dialogue
- Empower people to be effective by explaining beneficial impact as well as delivering timely feedback
- Know how to pick the right communication tool for the problem at hand (chat, video, email, etc.)
- Value diversity, equity, and inclusion, and understand how good communication practices intersect with efforts to build a diverse and inclusive culture
- Develop thoughtful and ambitious growth plans for each engineer that align with where they want to go in their career
- Support midlevel engineers transition into senior and staff roles
- Gain a clear understanding of company priorities, and communicate those to the team, helping them prioritize and balance investments
- Foster a belief in your team that we all come to the table with positive intent towards Honeycombβs overall success
- Cultivate new, relevant ideas by ensuring the team has enough context and agency to know where itβs worth being creative
Preferred Qualifications
- A strong candidate for this role would be familiar with triad-based collaboration and design thinking
- Bonus points if you are familiar with the Product Management philosophies of people like Marty Cagan and Teresa Torres

- Base pay (range) of $195,000 - $210,000 USD, CAD $256,716 - CAD $288,446 (Manager); $215,000 to $235,000 USD, CAD $295,313 - CAD $322,784 (Senior Manager)
