Summary

Jitera, Inc., a Japanese startup company developing No-Code/Low-Code software automation tools, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team, collaborate with other teams, develop technical strategies, oversee solution development lifecycle, assess individual performance, encourage continuous improvement, and effectively manage resources. The candidate must have 7+ years of coding experience in TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, NestJs, ReactJs (Ruby on Rails is a plus), business-level English skills, and be permanently based in the SEA/APAC Region.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an engineering management role, ideally within a solutions-focused environment
  • A strategic thinker with a creative approach to problem-solving and a data-driven decision-making style
  • 7+ years of coding experience in one of the following languages: TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, NestJs, ReactJs (Ruby on Rails is a plus)
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on technical management, building comprehensive web-based software solutions, API design, and managing server-client interactions
  • Solid understanding of fundamental design patterns in software design
  • Effective communication skills for cooperative work in a remote team
  • Business-level English skills (speaking, listening, writing, reading)
  • Must be permanently based in the SEA/APAC Region, with the legal right to work in the area

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team in the Solutions Department, setting clear objectives and fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation
  • Collaborate closely with teams to understand their needs and challenges, translating these into actionable engineering solutions
  • Develop the technical strategy and roadmap for the Solutions Department, incorporating the newest technologies and methodologies to improve solution quality and delivery
  • Oversee the solution development lifecycle from concept to deployment, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet our high standards
  • Regularly assess individual engineer performance metrics to promptly identify areas of improvement or concern
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, motivating the team to innovate and stay ahead of industry trends
  • Manage resources effectively, including budgeting and allocation, to maximize efficiency and results
