Engineering Manager

Summary

Join JumpCloud's growing international team as a Core Services Engineering Manager! You will lead 1-3 agile engineering teams, focusing on hiring, onboarding, and mentoring high-potential team members. This role involves partnering with engineering leadership, driving development work reuse, providing technical leadership, and acting as a technical mentor. You'll need 3+ years of team management experience in a distributed systems environment, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to build high-performing teams. Requirements

• 3+ years experience managing or leading teams
• Experience working in a distributed systems environment
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills to help technically drive and oversee complex projects on multiple teams from conception to completion
• Ability to work with ambiguity and drive clarity while delivering incremental value
• Track record of developing engineers and building strong, high performing teams
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Experience leading geographically diverse engineering teams in today’s remote first work environment

• You must be located in and authorized to work in the country noted in the job description to be considered for this role
• JumpCloud has teams in 15+ countries around the world and conducts our internal business in English. The interview and any additional screening process will take place primarily in English. To be considered for a role at JumpCloud, you will be required to speak and write in English fluently

Responsibilities

• Engineering management for 1-3 agile teams composed of Software Engineers
• Responsible for hiring, on-boarding and mentoring a diverse team of high potential team members
• As an active member of the engineering leadership team, partnering with peers and other teams to build, lead, and inspire a world class engineering organization
• Drive reuse of development work, platforming, and consistent technical and architectural direction across projects
• Provide technical leadership and oversight of team activities in your areas of expertise
• Act as a technical mentor and coach to more junior engineers
• Assist with Incident Management as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Experience with NodeJS and/or Golang
• Experience with RESTful API design
• Strong technical foundation in software engineering design principles
