Summary
Join Pulumi's Ecosystem team as an Engineering Manager and help bring Pulumi's cloud programming model to a global audience. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers building Pulumi providers and higher-level components, fostering collaboration within the team and the broader community. This remote-first role requires 5+ years of engineering leadership experience and a strong technical background in cloud platforms or Kubernetes. You will be responsible for hiring, developing talent, managing projects, and defining product roadmaps. Requirements
- 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management
- 3+ years experience building developer tools
- Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and/or Kubernetes, and an interest in infrastructure-as-code or DevOps tools
- Capable of articulating complex ideas clearly, both within the team and to external stakeholders
- Passionate about delivering developer-friendly solutions that solve real-world problems
- Eagerness to explore new technologies, foster fresh perspectives, and help shape the next generation of developer tools
Responsibilities
- Inspire and coach a distributed group of engineers, setting clear goals and maintaining high standards for quality and impact
- Recruit top engineering talent, foster an inclusive environment, and support continuous professional growth
- Oversee the design and development of Pulumi providers and higher-level libraries, ensuring they deliver value to both enterprise users and the open-source community
- Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to define scope, set realistic timelines, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables
- Promote open communication, knowledge sharing, and a culture of continuous improvement within the team and the broader community
- Provide regular feedback, manage performance with empathy, and guide engineers through career milestones
- Encourage community contributions and user feedback; actively represent the teamβs work in open-source discussions and forums
