Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager at Shakepay will lead a team of engineers to deliver the best experience to customers by ensuring productivity, coordinating projects, analyzing technology needs, interviewing and hiring software engineers, mentoring engineers, and contributing to code reviews. Requirements

• 5+ years working experience as a software developer
• 5+ years working experience as an engineering manager

Responsibilities

• Ensure engineers are productive, happy, learning, and doing meaningful work
• Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish technical and product goals
• Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects
• Interview and hire the best and brightest software engineers
• Mentor engineers and help cultivate their career aspirations
• Lead a foundational, multi-discipline team of engineers working on complex, full-stack projects with wide impact across the company
• Build or integrate frameworks promoting experimentation and safe release of new features into mobile and web applications
• Work with multiple teams across the company including product, design, legal and customer support
• Get your hands dirty: review code and spend some of your time coding with the team, contributing to their efforts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Node.js, Typescript, React-Native, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Datadog
• Experience with building financial apps
• Bitcoin knowledge
