Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in web development and engineering, including at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role
- Proven success leading cross-functional development teams and delivering complex web projects
- Demonstrated ownership of a portfolio of websites, including hands-on experience managing site migrations
- Strong technical expertise in modern web technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, and CMS-driven architectures; experience with frameworks like Next.js, Nuxt, or Astro is a plus
- Proficient in working with APIs, headless CMS platforms, and cloud-based architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Experienced with WordPress APIs and headless CMS implementations
- Deep understanding of performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG), SEO best practices, and responsive design
- Experience managing development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies
- Familiar with SSR, SSG, and composable architecture principles
- Knowledgeable in conversion rate optimization (CRO) strategies and web analytics tools
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of developers, ensuring high-quality execution of projects
- Develop and implement technical strategies aligned with the Audience Technology roadmap
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the engineering team
- Oversee the development, deployment, and maintenance of web applications and platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, reliability, and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, Design, and Audience Development—to define technical requirements and priorities
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, and thorough technical documentation
- Guide architectural decisions, conduct technical design reviews, and lead code reviews to maintain high engineering standards
- Monitor and optimize website performance to ensure fast load times and exceptional user experiences
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation
- Support the growth and development of team members through coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in media, publishing, or managing high-traffic content platforms is preferred
