Summary
The job is for an Engineering Manager at a well-funded startup that specializes in personalized nutrition programs and large-scale health research. The role involves leading two teams of engineers, partnering with product managers and designers, and contributing to the evolution of the architecture, tools, and processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software engineering. While this role is not hands-on, you still consider yourself a software engineer at heart
- A great reputation of leading a distributed full-stack team, in a fast pace environment. You have managed 6+ direct reports before
Responsibilities
- Leading 2 teams of 5 engineers each, focusing on outcomes over output
- Coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing engineers and teams. Ensuring high psychological safety
- Partnering with our product and data science teams to establish the roadmap and achieve sustainable throughput while iterating fast
- Challenging engineers on system design, scope or sequencing to deliver faster while decreasing the technical debt. You are not afraid to dive into a very technical conversation
- Actively tackling any bottleneck in the system, wherever they are

- Have an appetite to work closely with our product team to test and release new ideas fast
- Data-driven. You challenge teams to measure impact and demonstrate added value
