Summary
Join BetterCloud as a Software Engineering Manager for Actions and Events, leading a distributed team in building and maintaining no-code SaaS Actions and Events for SaaSOps workflows. You will mentor engineers, drive technical excellence, and partner with product and design teams. This role requires 8+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years in leadership, proficiency in full-stack development, and strong understanding of scalable architecture. Requirements
- Have 8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing high-performing engineering teams
- Be proficient in full-stack development, with expertise in modern backend technologies (Java, Spring, or similar), JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or similar), and cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
- Have a strong understanding of scalable architecture and microservices design, with a track record of delivering high-quality, maintainable software
- Be authorized to work in the U.S
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of talented full-stack engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Partner with engineering teams based in the US, Mexico, India, Ukraine, and Denmark to solve complex challenges that simplify our tech stack and scale Workflows at BetterCloud
- Drive technical excellence by guiding architectural decisions and ensuring best practices in software development
- Partner closely with Product Management and Design to deliver customer-centric features aligned with the BetterCloud Workflows value stream
- Oversee the delivery lifecycle, from ideation and design to implementation and release, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions
- Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies to help shape BetterCloud’s technical direction and strategy
- Advocate for and implement no-code and low-code automation innovations to maintain BetterCloud’s leadership in SaaSOps automation
- Work with other Engineering Managers, Architects, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration across the BetterCloud platform
- Collaborate with Customer Success and Support teams to understand customer pain points and address technical challenges proactively
- Ensure team adherence to established SLAs for uptime, performance, and issue resolution
- Continuously improve development processes and tooling to enhance efficiency and reduce technical debt
- Foster a supportive and inclusive team culture that values continuous learning, innovation, and mutual respect
- Provide individualized coaching and career development opportunities to help engineers grow in their roles and advance their careers
- Actively participate in hiring, onboarding, and retaining top talent, ensuring the team’s capabilities scale with the organization’s goals
