Engineering Manager - DevOps

Summary

Join SafeBase as an Engineering Manager, DevOps and lead an engineering team focused on improving automation, infrastructure, and developer QoL. You will set goals, prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and monitor cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. Responsibilities include improving DevEx and CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with engineering leaders, working closely with founders, attracting engineering talent, and helping grow the platform. The ideal candidate possesses an entrepreneurial mindset, strategic architectural and engineering design thinking, and 5+ years of engineering experience with 2+ years as an engineering manager. Advanced mastery of technologies like TypeScript, React, Node.js, and cloud concepts is required. Remote work with 10% travel is offered.

Requirements

• Entrepreneurial mindset - previous experience as an early joiner in a technology startup or evidence that you are scrappy with a "get-it-done" attitude. You thrive in an ambiguous environment and you enjoy leading people towards a common goal. You understand the main focus for engineers at a product-led startup is delivering the right features at the right time
• Strategic architectural & engineering design thinking and vision. Be able the product & business context to inform tradeoff decisions regarding work scoping, technical debt, and strategic investment. Knowing where to cut corners and where to excel
• 5+ years of experience as an engineer and 2+ years' experience as an engineering manager in an agile development environment
• Advanced mastery of technologies like TypeScript, React (hooks), Node.js, ES6
• Advanced mastery of cloud & web knowledge and concepts such as HTTP/S, cloud deployments and containers, SaaS integrations
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Lead an engineering team focused on improving automation, infrastructure, and developer QoL to enable engineers to deliver value to customers faster, safer, easier, and with higher quality
• Set goals, prioritize and define tasks, and manage timelines to execute a roadmap
• Monitor, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform
• Improve DevEx and existing CI/CD pipelines with additional quality and security engineering mindset
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to enhance the reliability and security of our systems
• Work closely with the founders and shape the future of our R&D center as an early engineer
• Attract, recruit, and retain engineering talent
• Help grow our platform to 1,000+ SaaS vendors, like LinkedIn and Instacart

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a B2B SaaS product startup. Even better: product-led startup or a product in cybersecurity/compliance realm
• Experience with our modern web application tech stack - Next.js, Node, TypeScript, Prisma, Google Cloud Platform, Apollo Server, Postgres, Cypress, and Jest
