Engineering Manager Search and Discovery in United States, Canada

Summary

BioRender is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Search and Discovery team, helping scientists find relevant content more efficiently. The manager will collaborate with product and design, deliver search and personalization systems, and have technical depth. They should have experience managing a cross-functional engineering team with ML expertise, a successful track record in management, previous experience delivering large-scale systems, and a technical background.

Requirements

• Have experience managing a cross functional engineering team with embedded ML engineers that developed impactful solutions of machine learning & NLP problems at scale to production applications, i.e, search (keyword and semantic), embeddings, reranking, recommendation, personalization
• Successful track record managing a high performing product engineering team of 5-8 engineers and consistently delivering value to users (2+ years of management experience)
• Previous experience delivering large-scale, reliable systems that require a lot of cross functional collaboration
• A technical background that gives you the ability to relate to the team's problems, facilitate discussion, and guide/coach engineers when making tradeoffs and technical decisions. (7+ years of software engineering experience)
