English Teaching Assistant

Summary

Join Campus as a fully remote Teaching Assistant and help us maximize access to education! Support 30-40 students online in business or general education courses, acting as a teacher, mentor, and coach. Attend lectures, lead weekly discussion sections, hold office hours, and grade student work. This role requires a strong writing background to support students in English composition courses. The time commitment is 6-8 hours per week, and compensation is $2,000 per 4-credit course or $1,185 per 1-2 credit course. We're looking for candidates with a passion for helping students succeed and a commitment to affordable education.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in: Composition and Rhetoric
• Writing Studies
• Technical and Professional Writing
• Certificates with an emphasis in relevant areas
• Teaching or tutoring experience on writing and essay development

Responsibilities

• Work to support a group of 30-40 students online within one of our business or general education courses
• Act as a teacher, mentor, and coach to students as they learn new skills and develop as professionals
• Attend lectures within the 11 week term (held between 9:00am-1:00pm ET or 6:00pm-10:00pm ET & PT)
• Lead discussion sections once per week
• Host 1-hour of office hours per week
• Grade for 30-40 students per course

Preferred Qualifications

• Current graduate student or business professional
• Experience teaching or tutoring online
• Ability to TA for multiple quarters and/or multiple discussion sections
