Summary
Join our team as an Epic Project Manager to lead projects for Grand Central, ASAP, and Orders applications. This role involves managing the full project lifecycle, from planning and execution to implementation and optimization. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including Epic Systems, internal IT, clinical leaders, and executive sponsors. The position requires extensive experience in healthcare IT project management, specifically with Epic Systems, and relevant certifications are preferred. This project is slated to run from February 2025 to May 2026 and involves approximately one week of travel per month to South Dakota.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Business, or a related field
- Possess 3β5+ years of experience in healthcare IT project management, preferably with Epic Systems
- Have experience with Epic implementations, upgrades, and optimization projects
- Have experience as an Epic Project Manager on at least 2 full life-cycle implementations
- Demonstrate knowledge of healthcare workflows, compliance regulations, and interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR)
- Possess strong knowledge of Epicβs electronic health record (EHR) system and its applications
- Show proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira)
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Exhibit the ability to work cross-functionally with IT teams, clinicians, and hospital administrators
- Possess strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute project plans for Epic implementation, upgrades, and optimization
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Manage project budgets, resources, and risks effectively
- Ensure all Epic-related projects align with the organization's goals and compliance requirements
- Act as the main point of contact between Epic Systems, internal IT teams, clinical leaders, and executive sponsors
- Facilitate meetings and ensure clear communication of project goals, expectations, and updates
- Work closely with Epic-certified analysts, trainers, and end-users to ensure system adoption and success
- Oversee data migration, system configuration, and interface development between Epic and other hospital systems (e.g., billing, radiology, pharmacy)
- Ensure smooth workflow integration for clinical and administrative teams
- Monitor system testing, troubleshooting, and go-live processes
- Develop change management strategies to support end-user adoption
- Coordinate with Epic trainers and super-users to facilitate staff training
- Address user concerns and ensure smooth transitions post-go-live
- Track project milestones, performance metrics, and system effectiveness
- Identify areas for system enhancements and lead post-implementation optimizations
- Ensure Epic system functionality aligns with regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, Joint Commission standards)
Preferred Qualifications
- Hold a Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Business, or a related field
- Possess Epic Certification(s)
- Hold PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or similar project management training
