Summary
Join our team as a Beaker Project Manager Expert to lead the planning and implementation of an EHR implementation project. This remote role involves managing the transition from legacy LIS applications to an Epic EHR system. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including executive leadership, IT management, and vendors. Responsibilities include managing project scope, schedule, and quality, while ensuring stakeholder engagement and team coordination. This position requires extensive experience in Beaker, HIT projects, and project management methodologies.
Requirements
- Have 7 years of Beaker experience
- Have 7 years of experience with Health Information Technology (HIT) projects with an emphasis on clinical information systems and healthcare application interoperability
- Develop and maintain project plans according to State and client IT project management methodology; must be familiar with Microsoft Project
- Have highly proficient knowledge of PMI standards for project management
Responsibilities
- Maintain the scope, schedule, and quality of the project for the Beaker Clinical EHR build team
- Set clear expectations for team members, including defining what they should do at each phase of the project
- Work closely with the EHR Program Director and other project managers/team managers to coordinate activities
- Ensure that the business community is engaged in the project
- Advise and coach team members by providing guidance on project issues, key success factors of the project, and lessons learned
- Share with team members the positive effects of innovation and system capabilities
- Reinforce the importance of the project together with the EHR program executives and the Program Director, and provide consistent communication to the project team
- Organize resources within the organization
- Motivate and show appreciation for the team
- Appropriately match team member skills to team responsibilities
- Manage the project from an organizational perspective while attending to detailed tasks
- Assist as a support contact for revenue cycle
- Identify and troubleshoot issues
- Guide workflow design building and testing the system, and analyze other technical issues associated with Epic software
- Serve as a liaison between organizational needs and Epic implementation staff
- Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings
- Work with Epic representatives, the business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regard to the project deliverables and timeline
- Develop an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's workflows
- Participate in training and work with end users
- Report and review the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership
- Hold weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones
- Develop and maintain all required client and client PMO project documentation in coordination with other EHR PMO PM resources
Preferred Qualifications
Have experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies
