Join HST Pathways as the Manager of Interoperability, a remote position reporting to the Sr. VP, Head of Product. You will be a strategic leader responsible for delivering high-quality interoperability products, shaping the overall strategy, and overseeing software engineering for the interoperability team. This role requires significant product/engineering experience, expertise in healthcare interoperability, and strong leadership skills. You will build and lead a high-performing team, collaborate with various stakeholders, and drive product vision and roadmap execution. Requirements

  • Significant product/engineering experience, including 10+ years of leading successful interoperability products through multiple releases, with demonstrated success in defining and launching excellent products
  • Expertise in developing product roadmaps and plans that align with business goals and drive impactful outcomes
  • Proven ability to work with partners and clients to deliver joint solutions under tight timeframes, with a strong focus on delivery and execution
  • Solid understanding of data systems architecture, information flow, and a passion for leveraging tools to enhance and expand business opportunities
  • Exceptional team management and leadership abilities, including a talent for unblocking challenges and developing both senior and junior team members
  • Demonstrated domain expertise in healthcare interoperability and interoperability frameworks, including a deep understanding of HL7, FHIR, EDI, USCDI, TEFCA, and Carequality
  • Hands-on experience with healthcare applications and integration engines such as Rhapsody, Mirth, Iris/Ensemble, etc
  • Familiarity with major EHR systems, processes, and data flows, including Epic, Cerner, and Athenahealth
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodology with a track record of successfully managing projects and delivering results
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to roll up one’s sleeves and tackle challenges head-on
  • Exceptional interpersonal, people management, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences

Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to understand and collaborate on their challenges, needs, and complex workflows related to making data available to various stakeholders in the patient journey
  • Determine optimal ways to implement key solutions that balance level of effort, market trends, partner system architecture, and business needs
  • Coordinate and collaborate across internal teams and partners to drive holistic solutions (services, support) with a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Build, grow, and lead a high-performing team of integration engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
  • Participate in strategy development for healthcare interoperability – both within the Data Platforms group and company-wide
  • Support development teams in creating solutions for market problems; collaborate with marketing and sales teams in launch programs and sales support
  • Drive product vision, develop and execute both short-term and long-term roadmaps, and be accountable for delivery milestones and outcomes
  • Immerse yourself in the company’s Agile software development processes and champion continuous improvement practices
  • Identify, establish, and nurture relationships with healthcare data and software providers to enhance interoperability capabilities
  • Collaborate closely with product engineering to ensure alignment between technical capabilities and strategic goals
  • Define and refine the product roadmap, breaking it down into actionable epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Prioritize and manage backlogs by making informed trade-off decisions, balancing user satisfaction, time to market, and business objectives
  • Proactively identify and manage dependencies, addressing risks, and ensuring seamless execution across the product lifecycle
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous development, and rapid iteration to keep the product competitive and aligned with market needs
  • Collaborate with Product Management, DevOps, Quality Assurance (QA), and customer support teams to ensure the delivery of optimal software development and operations
  • Mentor and inspire software engineers and team members to pursue excellence and exceed performance expectations
  • Partner with principals, architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to application architecture design standards and sound engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a product owner in a healthcare interoperability setting (ambulatory surgery center experience is a plus)
