Join Fleetio's growing Accounting team as a detail-oriented and proactive Expense Accountant. You will play a critical role in managing employee expenses, vendor payments, and supporting month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial operations. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment. You will review and process employee expenses, manage virtual corporate cards, process vendor payments, contribute to month-end close, assist employees with expense questions, and identify process improvement opportunities. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in accounting, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and advanced Excel skills. Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in public/private accounting
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or Finance (or relevant SaaS experience)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Proven success in managing recurring accounting duties
- Ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions, and implement changes collaboratively
- Technologically savvy and comfortable using various software/tools
- Highly motivated and ambitious
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Background check required
Responsibilities
- Review and process employee expenses to ensure compliance with company policies
- Manage virtual corporate cards and spend programs in Ramp for Fleetio and Auto Integrate
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments
- Contribute to our month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support employees seeking assistance with their card and expense questions
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in expense and payment workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ramp, NetSuite, and Asana is a plus
- Experience with foreign currency is a plus
