External Relations Intern

Summary

Join Ballotpedia's External Relations internship program for a part-time, remote opportunity to gain hands-on experience in American politics. The internship runs from June 2nd to August 1st, 2025, offering approximately 10-20 hours per week. You'll work alongside full-time staff, assisting with donor relations, data management, research, and other projects. Ballotpedia provides compensation of at least $15 per hour and may facilitate credit for your internship experience. Requirements

• Have a well-functioning computer with Internet access
• Submit a resume in PDF format
• Submit a cover letter in PDF format which states your interest in External Relations, including the contact information for two professional references
• Submit a sample one-page thank you note thanking a donor for their support of Ballotpedia in PDF format (included in the same file as your cover letter)
• Ensure that either your resume or your cover letter includes your current address

Responsibilities

• Assist the department with activities to support Ballotpedia’s donor relations and strategic partnerships
• Be tasked with data entry and data clean-up
• Utilize Salesforce to produce reports and manage Ballotpedia’s database of external contacts
• Conduct basic research about potential partners and donors for Ballotpedia
• Assist with aspects of donor recognition and record keeping such as donor database entry, thank you note writing, and other donor recognition as appropriate
• Prepare research on elections and other related topics that may be needed for small and large partnerships
• Other projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Some familiarity with Google Applications is helpful
