Summary

Join Skillsoft as a Finance and Compensation Specialist and oversee all aspects of financial reporting, including accrual calculations, adjustments, and month-end reconciliations. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in finance, financial reporting, sales compensation, or a related role
  • Deep knowledge of accrual accounting and financial reconciliation processes
  • Experience with commission calculations
  • Proficiency in advanced financial software and analytical tools, such as Excel, ERP systems, and financial databases
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage large datasets effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Experience in a high-growth, sales-driven organization
  • Track record of providing innovative solutions and driving process improvements

Responsibilities

  • Lead the calculation of monthly and quarterly accruals, ensuring precision and consistency
  • Review and adjust accruals based on updated financial data and insights
  • Conduct comprehensive month-end reconciliations to guarantee accuracy in financial reporting
  • Interpret and analyze commission data to ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Collaborate with the finance team to align reporting strategies with overarching financial objectives
  • Prepare and deliver detailed financial reports on metrics and performance
  • Develop, maintain, and refine financial reporting structures and policies to enhance efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies, proactively addressing potential issues
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve financial reporting processes and systems
  • Ensure compliance with sales compensation policies and SOX requirements and maintain supporting documents
  • Partner with cross-functional teams regularly to build constructive relationship and drive continuous cross-functional process improvement
  • Participate in User Acceptance Test for system plan implementation and updates
  • Provide support for any ad hoc business requirements
