Requirements
- 2+ years of proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar finance assistant role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial management, and bookkeeping practices
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial records
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with the utmost discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and self-direction
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliation of accounts
- Monitor and record all financial transactions, ensuring expenses are tracked and categorized correctly
- Prepare, send, and follow up on invoices, ensuring timely payments and resolving any discrepancies
- Assist in processing payroll, ensuring accuracy in employee compensation and compliance with regulations
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring financial objectives are met
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all payments and collections are handled efficiently
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records and identify any discrepancies
- Assist in preparing documents and information required for tax filing and compliance
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial data and documentation
- Accurately enter and manage financial data in accounting software, maintaining up-to-date records
- Provide insights and analysis on financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement
