Summary

This hands-on role involves implementing and overseeing accounting processes and systems for venture-backed clients from Seed to Series C stages. You will manage accountants, facilitate client meetings, and handle monthly and yearly financial closes. Responsibilities
- Implement processes and systems for clients, including needs mapping, system selection, setup, and implementation
- Facilitate client meetings
- Oversee monthly and yearly financial closes
- Support startup clients needing Controller help
- Context shift, communicate, prioritize, and evaluate client needs
- Manage accountants and processes for clients and potentially internally
- Embrace the agile and scrappy nature of startups
- Building and Overseeing Accounting Processes for Full Cycle Accounting
- Financial Statement Analysis
- Chart of Accounts Review and Recommendations
- Cost of Goods Sold Guidance
- Prior Client-Facing Experience
- Preparation of Financial Statements, Reports and Presentations
- Accounting for Intercompany Activity and Performing Financial Statement Consolidations
- Accounting for Unrealized Gains and Losses
- Familiarity with Equity Accounting and Reconciliations for Stock, and Convertible Notes
- Advanced knowledge of ASC 606 - Revenue Recognition and ASC 842 - Lease Accounting
- Experience Overseeing the Work Product of Others
- Knowledge of the Financial Due Diligence Process
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer or client service experience
- CPA or CMA
