Finance Controller

Summary

Join Customs Support, a leading independent customs broker in the EU, as a Finance Controller based in Lyon, France. This role reports to the Finance Director and requires managing general ledger entries, month-end/year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will oversee account reconciliations, assist in budgeting and forecasting, coordinate audits, support tax preparation, and improve accounting procedures. The position demands strong accounting and tax knowledge (French GAAP), experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central, and excellent communication skills. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
• Experience as a Controller/Finance or working at one of the Big Four Accounting Firms: minimum 4 years
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office
• Understanding and experience working with Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Strong knowledge of accounting (French GAAP) and taxes
• Knowledge of French language
• Strong focus on process improvement and digitalization
• Strong Analytical, communication, and project management skills
• Team player

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger entries and ensure accuracy of all accounting records
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies
• Oversee and reconcile account balances and bank statements
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Coordinate audits (internal and external) and provide necessary documentation and explanations
• Support tax preparation and filings, ensuring compliance with local regulations
• Develop and implement improved accounting procedures and internal controls
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall business goals and decision-making
