Finance Data Analyst

Summary

The job description is for a Finance Data Analyst position at Freight Innovation, a logistics company. Requirements

• Profound Excel skills, as well as experience with Power Query, Pivot Tables, and Macros
• Expertise in interpreting financial data to provide meaningful insights for informed decision-making
• Excellent English communication skills and a professional attitude at all times
• Experience in accurately preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports, conducting audits, and providing strategic recommendations to enhance overall financial performance
• The ability to quickly grasp new platforms and technologies essential for the role

Responsibilities

• Audit, analyze, and improve financial data and processes to boost efficiency and accuracy
• Support the sales team by analyzing data to craft compelling proposals and ensure competitive pricing strategies
• Analyze data from external invoices in different formats (CSV, Excel, PDF) to evaluate rates, fees, and discounts of potential clients
• Retrieve necessary data, identify analytical requirements, derive insights, and automate processes using tools like Power BI or Power Query
• Use proprietary software to generate quotes and manipulate dependencies (e.g. discounts and percentages) to produce accurate projections
• Conduct weekly audits on billing data for thousands of customer shipments to ensure the accuracy of information
• Translate complex sales data into disbursements for the sales staff. Ensure that commission calculations align with company policies and sales performance metrics
• Implement optimization strategies for audit and report processes, streamlining workflows, and ensuring efficiency. Develop and apply automation techniques in Excel to eliminate repetitive tasks, enhancing the accuracy and speed of regularly performed processes
• Report and explain financial data and audit results to management regularly. Provide insights for decision-making and improve financial presentations based on feedback
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as requested to address specific inquiries or to provide deeper insights into particular areas of interest (e.g. specific customer billing question)
• Create comprehensive reports, charts, and graphs to effectively communicate financial and business trends to management
• Work with cross-functional team and outsourced accounting firm to report and integrate financial and operational data

• Experience using Power BI
• Translate feedback and insights into clear, relevant information for various audiences
• Demonstrate a friendly, adaptable demeanour when engaging with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
• Exhibit initiative and creativity in tackling challenges and devising inventive solutions
