Senior Analyst, Data Operations & Analytics

Summary

Join Lightspeed as a Senior Analyst, Data Operations & Analytics to bridge data and business operations. Develop a deep understanding of business processes, systems, and data architecture to drive operational excellence. Translate business stakeholder needs into technical requirements and solutions, creating insightful datasets, reporting, and dashboards. Drive the data roadmap, collaborating with the Data Strategy team to industrialize data and ensure robust practices. Identify and champion opportunities to optimize processes and data flows, enabling data-driven decisions. Monitor data quality, investigate discrepancies, and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with the Data Office to mentor junior team members and establish data standards.

Requirements

• 4+ years in an analytical role with a strong focus on data operations and process optimization
• Strong experience working translating business stakeholder challenges and needs into technical requirements and solutions
• Excellent SQL skills, and willingness to learn new tools and data systems
• Strong business acumen and a knack for bridging the gap between technical challenges and business strategy
• Enjoy tackling complex problems through meticulous research, analysis, and innovative solutions
• A drive to deliver results and get the job done well
• Meticulous with data accuracy and a keen eye for spotting anomalies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex problems with clarity and impact

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of our business processes, systems, and underlying data architecture to drive operational excellence within your Pod (i.e. Business and data domain)
• Develop exploratory data models leveraging diverse data sources, supporting our business partners with insightful datasets, reporting, and dynamic dashboards
• Be the bridge between the data office and the broader business, responsible for turning complexity into clarity and ensuring clear communication across the groups
• Drive the data roadmap of your Pod, and collaborate with the Data Strategy team to shape the broader Data Office roadmap to industrialize data and ensure robust data practices
• Identify and champion opportunities to optimize processes, systems, and data flows within your Pod, enabling data-driven decisions that fuel business growth
• Monitor and ensure data quality, investigating discrepancies at the source, documenting findings, and driving continuous improvement
• Collaborate with the Data Office to mentor junior team members and establish data standards and best practices across the organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Finance, Accounting, Revenue Operations (RevOps) or Sales will give you a headstart
• Familiarity with GCP, BigQuery, Dataform, Looker, GitHub and Salesforce is a plus
• Excellent organisational skills, self-starter mentality, and the ability to drive projects autonomously in a fast-paced environment
