Financial Accountant

Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance Operations, you will perform various accounting and analytical functions. You will support accounts payable and receivable, prepare journal entries, manage vendors, maintain balance sheet accounts, and assist with month-end close processes. The position requires 2+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and strong Excel skills. Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in an accounting role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Knowledge of US GAAP financial statements and internal controls
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• A drive to learn quickly, be creative, and win as a team
• Ability to meet hard deadlines

Responsibilities

• Support accounts payable and act as a liaison for vendors to reconcile billing discrepancies
• Support the accounts receivable invoicing and collections process
• Prepare and book journal entries
• Assist with vendor and broker management, including commissions processing
• Maintain balance sheet accounts, including preparation of monthly reconciliations
• Monitor and process employee expenses
• Assist with the month-end close process
• Prepare and analyze monthly cash expenditures and reconciliations
• Support the accounting team by ensuring backup documentation is properly filed and organized
• Assist with ad-hoc tasks or project-related responsibilities as needed to support the Finance Department
• Walk through and document significant accounting processes and related internal controls to support the development of accounting policies and procedures
