Summary
Join Veolia WTS as a Payroll Accounting Specialist and leverage your expertise in payroll accounting and regulatory reporting. Based in Peterborough with hybrid/remote options, you will ensure accuracy and timeliness across UK and Ireland payroll schemes. You will be responsible for maintaining payroll system integrity, working with ADP and internal HR, and meeting reporting deadlines. This role involves financial aspects of payroll, monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, and compliance support. Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of UK Payroll & Pension regulations, including end of year reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace, including advanced functions
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team
- Knowledge of SAP & ADP systems
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
- Ability to prioritise, plan effectively, and meet deadlines
- Problem-solving skills and proactive approach to challenges
- Degree level education or industry experience
- CIPP qualification or accounting qualification with proven payroll specialism
- Significant experience in end-to-end payroll exposure, compliance, and accounting
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK/Ireland payroll & pension legislation
Responsibilities
- Support monthly payroll processes by extracting data and creating accounting documents
- Reconcile UK payroll control accounts and ensure suitable accounting postings
- Lead the creation and submission of annual payroll processes (P60, P11D, PSA, ERS returns)
- Manage HMRC gateway accounts and employee changes
- Liaise with UK HR teams and group accounting teams on global systems and process developments
- Serve as lead contact for internal and external payroll audits
- Partner with senior HR members to review and extend payrolling of benefits in kind
- Review and streamline payroll reporting, recommending new software solutions as needed
- Maintain UK payroll account mappings in compliance with legislation and group policy
- Ensure short term business visa compliance and employee share scheme reporting accuracy
