Join us in our quest to keep local retail not just alive, but thriving! We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Analyst who will be responsible for data preparation, financial reporting, and data reconciliation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a financial analyst, data analyst, or similar role with a focus on data preparation, reporting, and reconciliation
  • Experience working with financial systems (e.g., ERP systems like NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) financial planning (Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, and data analysis tools
  • Data Management: Familiarity with financial databases and data management techniques, ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Reporting Tools: Experience using financial reporting tools and software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Power BI, or Tableau) for data visualization and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Data Collection: Gather, organize, and prepare financial data from multiple sources, including ERP systems, financial databases, and other internal systems, ensuring data completeness and accuracy
  • Data Cleansing: Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and ready for analysis and reporting
  • Data Maintenance: Maintain financial databases and ensure that all data is up-to-date, properly formatted, and stored securely for future use
  • Report Preparation: Prepare and distribute regular financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, management reports, variance analyses, and financial summaries
  • Dashboard Development: Assist in creating and maintaining financial dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau, providing stakeholders with clear insights into key financial metrics
  • Ad Hoc Reporting: Support ad hoc reporting requests, delivering timely and accurate financial data to assist the finance team, management, and other stakeholders in decision-making
  • Reconciliation: Perform regular data reconciliations between financial systems, bank statements, and other data sources to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial reporting
  • Variance Analysis: Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in financial data, ensuring that all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve data reconciliation processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency, implementing best practices to enhance data integrity
