Financial Analyst

This remote role, open to candidates in specific time zones, involves providing financial planning, analysis, and strategic support to drive informed decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with the Communications and Finance departments, analyzing investment programs for PR and brand campaigns, global Movement communications and events, and internal effectiveness and efficiency initiatives. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, planning, or a related role
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
• Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, financial modeling, and data visualization tools
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote-friendly, multicultural environment

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning to support strategic decision-making
• Develop and maintain complex financial models to analyze trends, risks, and opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, improve resource allocation, and track financial performance
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including variance analysis and key performance indicators
• Identify and implement efficiencies in financial processes, reporting, and tools
• Present financial insights and recommendations to leadership and other key stakeholders
• Support strategic projects across teams in the Foundation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit finance, grant management, or international financial operations
• Knowledge of financial planning and reporting systems such as Adaptive Insights, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with open-source communities and the Wikimedia movement
